The full programme including keynote speakers and employers attending will be available in January 2018.\nThis event will give students the opportunity to network with women STEM professionals and employers over lunch to find out about placement and graduate roles.\nThe winner of our Interconnect Student Award will also be announced at this conference. This award celebrates women students who have gone above and beyond to support\, mentor or promote women in STEM. DESCRIPTION:Interconnect is excited to bring to you an industry insight with Barclays.  The event is aimed at students studying technology related degree subjects\, giving you a fantastic insight into a technology career at Barclays. This event is a great opportunity to: \nLearn about the importance of women in technology at Barclays\nHear from women working in technology roles at Barclays and their individual career paths\nLearn about what is involved in the Barclays recruitment process\, tips on how to succeed in your technology interview and what Barclays look for in candidates\nLearn about the top technologies used by Barclays such as voice payments or machine learning\nNetwork with Barclays women professionals and other technology students \nBarclays will also talk about their ‘Spring Week’ aimed at students in their 1st and 2nd year of their technology degrees.  Students who perform well during the Spring Week programme\, will have the opportunity to be considered for the Barclays Summer Internship Programme in the subsequent year.\nStudents attending this event out with Edinburgh/Glasgow will have their travel expenses reimbursed up to a maximum of £15 per student.  Travel expenses claim forms will be handed out on the evening of the event.

SUMMARY:Intersectionality in STEM
DESCRIPTION:Equate Scotland and the Connect Network are hosting a wine reception and panel discussion on intersectionality of women in STEM.\nThere are multiple interventions and activities to support women in STEM\, however these interventions\, must still put diversity at their heart to ensure they are representative of all women; women of colour\, LBT women\, disabled women\, women with caring responsibilities and from different socio-economic backgrounds.\nWe will be discussing how we can make sure our support of women in STEM is intersectional\, hear from a diverse panel of academics\, professionals and recent graduates about their experiences in STEM and what they want to see done to encourage diversity across these sectors.\nWine and nibbles provided!\nSpeakers include: Dr. Clare Taylor Lecturer at Edinburgh Napier University\, Dr. Jo Watts a data and analytics enterpreneur\, Mavis Amandi a Project Controls Engineer at Babcock International and Michelle Fisher a policy officer at Inclusion Scotland.
