Women in STEM face consistent obstacles throughout their careers, and becoming a parent has proven to be the most challenging.
Returning to work after being on maternity or parental leave can be a tricky time, with many women feeling anxious over how they will be viewed by their colleagues after becoming a parent. Sexist attitudes towards mothers prevail in many STEM workplaces, and so we want to equip returning mothers with the tools to be able to go back to work with confidence.
In this workshop, you will:
- Learn about discriminatory attitudes to mothers in the workplace and the effects they have on women in STEM
- Reflect on and gain tools for improving your confidence for returning to work
- Understand how to navigate issues that may arise during this period
