This 45-minute workshop aims to dispel myths associated with having a career in the railway industry.
You will have the opportunity to interact in an informal Q&A style session with two female leaders at Network Rail and will learn more about entry-level positions available and how to become successful applicants.
The second half of the workshop will discuss the Green future of the railway.
Scotland’s Railway is leading the transport industry with its ambitious target of achieving decarbonisation by 2035. To do this we will require new knowledge from a vast range of disciplines. From the data analysts, climate/weather experts, ecologists to chemical engineers. In this session, you will get insight into the upcoming roles and future career opportunities.
Colleagues leading the session are part of one of Network Rail employee networks, Inspire which aims to promote gender equality and support colleagues within the industry. We actively seek to engage and with young people and STEM Societies. You will be invited to connect with Inspire after the workshop which will offer you contacts to female industry leaders and workshops and resources developed in the future to enable you to succeed in join Scotland’s Railway.
