Career Paths in Renewables

7th February 2019 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Are you studying a science, technology or engineering subject? The renewables sector needs you!

This event will broaden your awareness of future job prospects in Scotland’s Renewables sector as speakers from a range of energy and renewables roles and organisations will demonstrate a diverse range of career options.

Scotland has become a world leader in sourcing its electricity from renewables, getting more than two-thirds of its electricity from them last year. Scottish Government aims for this to be 100 per cent by 2020. This growth is creating a demand for talent in the sector.

Our speakers will share with you their personal career path in 3 slides and in 5 minutes, followed by a 5-minute Q&A session. The event will also incorporate a speed networking session with the professionals and will conclude with informal networking over some canapés and wine.

Who should attend

This event offers women studying science, technology, or engineering at Scottish Universities and Colleges the chance to explore the potential STEM career opportunities in this growing industry. STEM subject lecturers are also welcome to attend.

Students travelling out with Edinburgh will have their VAT receipted travel expenses reimbursed up to a max of £15 per person. Travel expenses claim forms will be issued to students on the night of the event.
