Are you ready to take the next step in your career and move into leadership?
After the success of Equate Scotland’s Career Enhancement Programme (CEP) in early 2026, we are launching application for CEP 2.0 this October, focusing on women working in — or aiming to transition into — Scotland’s growing green skills, renewables, and environmental sectors.
As Scotland moves towards a net-zero, low-carbon future, green skills are in high demand. This three-day, in-person course provides bespoke training to help you develop your confidence, communication, and leadership skills, empowering you to progress your career in this exciting and rapidly expanding field.
🌱 Course Details
The Career Enhancement Programme 2026 offers three in-person sessions designed to support women developing their leadership and confidence as they progress in Scotland’s growing green skills sector.
📍 Location: SASA Science & Advice for Scottish Agriculture, Roddinglaw Road, Edinburgh EH12 9FJ
🗓️ Dates: 6 October, 27 October & 17 November 2026 (9:30–15:30)
👥 Spaces: 16 participants (a few spaces remaining)

Hosted by SASA Science & Advice for Scottish Agriculture, this programme focuses on practical, evidence-based learning — combining interactive workshops, reflective exercises, and inspiring guest speakers.
🗓️ Day 1 – Discovering Your Strengths & Overcoming Barriers
- The Concept of Appreciative Inquiry
- Sticky Floors & Glass Ceilings: understanding internal and external barriers
- Doing Yourself Justice: strategies for confidence and self-promotion
- Developing your Elevator Pitch and tackling your Internal Saboteur

- Team Roles & Effective Communication
- Experiential Team Task – design, construction & evaluation
- How to handle Challenging Conversations while being assertive
🗓️ Day 3 – Leadership, Reflection & Growth
- Exploring Leadership & Management Styles
- Emotionally Intelligent Leadership
- Identifying your own leadership strengths and approaches
- Male & Female Leadership Approaches
- Thinking Ahead: goal setting for your career development
Each session also features a guest speaker and networking opportunities to connect with peers and professionals across the renewables and environmental sectors.

- What have I got going for me?
Identify your achievements, strengths, and transferable skills through a range of interactive exercises. You will gain valuable insights into your personality and how it shapes your professional strengths. - How can I communicate more effectively?
Effective communication is a key leadership skill. Through this module, you’ll explore different communication styles, understand your own, and learn strategies to communicate with clarity and confidence. - How can I develop my leadership potential?
We demystify leadership by exploring what people truly value in their leaders and help you unlock your own leadership potential. You’ll gain tools and perspectives to lead authentically and effectively.

✅ Eligibility
- Women currently employed, and based in Scotland
- Working in, or looking to transition into, a green skills role* or career
- Able to attend all three days of in-person sessions
(Please note: this course is not suitable for students or new graduates.)
* Green skills roles are found across every sector. They include jobs that contribute to Scotland’s transition to a net-zero, low-carbon future — whether directly through renewables and environmental work, or indirectly through supporting sustainable practices in your organisation.
That could include:
- Working in renewable energy, environmental management, or sustainability projects
- Roles in construction, engineering, forestry, manufacturing, or transport that are becoming more sustainable
- Policy, education, communications, or community engagement focused on climate action or sustainability
- Or anyone looking to transition their existing skills — for example, from administration, design, HR, or technical roles — into work aligned with Scotland’s green economy
