BBC – Women into Engineering and Tech

Are you a women STEM student at a Scottish college or university? Don’t miss out on the opportunity to see what professional options the BBC has to offer future women in tech and engineers. You will have:

The opportunity to find out what new technology and systems are being developed, put into place and used by viewers across the world.
A chance to meet current engineers working at the BBC, BBC Scotland, STV and Arqiva, what their jobs are like and how they came to work at those companies.
Develop your knowledge of what the BBC, STV and Arqiva are looking for in potential applicants and get top tips on what a successful application should look like.
Network with professionals and women students from across Scotland over wine, juice and nibbles.

3:00-3:10 pm      Introduction by Jennifer Allan (BBC Scotland) and Talat Yaqoob (Equate Scotland)
3:10-3:35 pm      Open discussion- Women in STEM
3:35-4:10 pm      BBC Innovation and Future. What role has tech played in the BBC?
4:10-4:45 pm      Panel with BBC, BBC Scotland, STV and Arqiva staff on recruitment and successful applications
4:45-5:45 pm      Virtual Tour of the different roles of engineering @ the BBC with staff
5:45-6:30 pm      Networking with wine, juice and nibbles.
