At Equate, we wanted to provide an update as to the status of the internships advertised via Careerwise for summer 2020. As you will no doubt have guessed, a number of internships will not go ahead due to the current COVID 19 crisis. This is largely down to the practicalities of remote working of students and the ability to provide a full valuable learning experience. These include Forest and Land Scotland, ORE Catapult, Integrated Environmental Solutions, KP Technology and For-Sight.
However, a number of organisations who made an offer of a placement to students or who were in the middle of their recruitment and selection process have yet to make a decision. Some employers are hopeful that they may be able to provide a shorter placement e.g. 8 weeks as opposed to 12 weeks but final decisions will not be made for a number of weeks. These include STV, ECS, RBS, Computer Application Services, AECOM, University of Edinburgh, RJ McLeod, BHC Builders Merchants, Castle Precision Engineering and Marine Scotland.
If you received a placement offer from an employer, they will be in touch directly with you to keep you informed as to whether the placement will go ahead.
